STEP ONE

GATHER INSPIRATION

Gather inspiration from magazines, the internet or your own photos.

A great way to source inspiration fast, is to simply go for a 20 minute walk with your camera.  You may be amazed by what you find.

STEP TWO

ANALYSE COLOURS

Look carefully at the inspirational images and identify what colours you can see.

Look at the proportion of each colour – how much is there of each?

Match the colours to the paints, fabric or polymer clay that you are going to use in your project.

STEP THREE

SOURCE COMPONENTS & EXPERIMENT

Find the project you are going to apply your colour scheme to.

You may need to mix paint and beads or wooden objects.  You may mix polymer clay colours with fabric combinations and make beads for a necklace.

Whatever your intended project experiment with how you can express your own colour scheme.
