FINDER MAKER ‘Make a Colour Swatch Fandeck’ shows you how to develop a very useful colour resource for your creative studio.
Your ‘Colour swatch Fandeck’ will allow you to select colours like a creative master!.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Range of paint colours *
  • ‘Simply White’ Paint *
  • Paint Brush*
  • Water for cleaning Brush
  • Surface to mix paint – plastic lid
  • paper card – for printing the template (white or natural)
  • Photocopier

STEP ONE

Select a paint colour + simply white.

On a suitable surface mix your paint to create a range of pastel colours.

Work from dark to light.  Start with pure colour and progressively add more white paint to create a graduating range of pastel colours.

STEP TWO

Download our PDF ‘Colour Swatch Book” template – Print – then you are ready to paint.

We have printed on natural card stock, but white card will work just as well.

Paint a swatch of pure colour in the first square of your swatch.

Work from dark to light.  Progressively paint each square with the pastel paints you have mixed.

Allow your swatch sheets to dry.

STEP THREE

Using scissors cut along each of the swatches.

STEP FOUR

Using the pointy end of a skewer make a hole in one end of each swatch so that you can tie up all of your swatches together.

STEP FIVE

Thread string through each of the swatches.

Tie a knot to fix the swatch book together.
