Take a selection of small and large round raw wood dots.
Set some of the dots aside to leave unpainted as beautiful raw wood.
Select a paint colour palate. You may create your own range of pastel colours by mixing coloured paint with white.
See our ‘Make a Colour swatch Fan Deck’ blog entry for details on how to mix pastel colours.
Experiment with painting the surfaces and sides of the wood dots.
Use tape to ‘mask’ sections of the wood to create patterns on the surface.
The ‘masked’ section of the wood will be protected from the paint and remain as raw wood.
Set the painted wood dots to one side and wait until dry.
Go and make yourself a cup of tea and put your feet up!
Once dry turn each of the painted and unpainted dots over so that the ‘backs’ are facing upwards.
Place a small blob of glue (E6000 Adhesive) onto the ‘backs’ of each of the dots and stick a magnet onto it.
Wait until the glue is completely dry.
You are ready to use your new wood magnets!
